VIT has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Data Informatics and Innovation Division (DIID), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Govt. of India, to advance data science through a collaborative partnership.
The agreement focuses on knowledge exchange and collaboration, organising workshops & hackathons, capacity building and providing internship opportunities. The MoU was formally signed and exchanged by Mr. R. Rajesh, ADG, DIID, MoSPI & Ms. Madhura Roy, Director, DIID, MoSPI, and Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT & Dr. Sandhya Pentareddy, Executive Director, VIT in the presence of Dr. T. Jayabarathi, Registrar; Dr. K. Karthikeyan, Dean, School of Advanced Sciences and other faculty members.
This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic research and government needs, leveraging VIT’s talent to address data science use cases and providing students with valuable exposure to national projects.
