Abstract

Teachers who enjoy their activities and find meaning in their work have profound positive impact on education and future generations.  Faculty Engagement is crucial to the quality of teaching in higher educational institutions in both the developed and developing nations.

This study assesses cross-cultural validity of the ‘Faculty Engagement Survey’ in the context of a developing country. Developing nations depend on teaching institutions for research outcomes especially due to lack of funds.  Many teachers are expected to perform in teaching, research and service areas. The article, therefore explores if teachers can be simultaneously engaged in these three roles, and draws practical implications.
